Why We Changed From Lakeshore Chiropractic To Lakeshore Integrated Health

And Why Some Patients Need More Than Adjustments Alone

For years, our office was known as Lakeshore Chiropractic.

And honestly, chiropractic care is still a huge part of what we do.

We believe in it. We’ve seen incredible results from it. And for many people, the right adjustment at the right time can make a massive difference.

But over time, we started noticing something important:

Some patients needed more.

Not because chiropractic “doesn’t work.” But many chronic conditions are more complicated than a simple spinal adjustment alone.

That realization changed everything for us.

And it’s exactly why we officially changed our name to Lakeshore Integrated Health.

The Reality Of Modern Chronic Pain

A lot of people walking through our doors today are not “simple” cases.

Many patients have already tried:

  • chiropractic care
  • physical therapy
  • injections
  • stretching
  • massage
  • medications
  • rest
  • gym workouts
  • online rehab programs

Some were helped temporarily. Some weren’t helped at all.

And many were left frustrated, wondering:

“Why does my pain keep coming back?”

That question became one of the driving forces behind the evolution of our office.

Because the truth is…

Pain is rarely just about one thing.

Why Adjustments Alone Aren’t Always Enough

Years ago, many chiropractic offices focused almost entirely on spinal manipulation.

But healthcare has evolved.

Today we understand much more about:

  • muscle weakness
  • spinal instability
  • disc injuries
  • nerve irritation
  • inflammation
  • scar tissue
  • pelvic floor dysfunction
  • nervous system overload
  • poor recovery
  • chronic stress
  • movement dysfunction

Sometimes a joint problem is actually being caused by weak muscles surrounding it.

Sometimes “tight muscles” are really unstable muscles.

Sometimes the nervous system itself is stuck in an overprotective state.

And sometimes patients need a combination of therapies working together — not just one treatment.

That’s where our office began to evolve.

Our Evolution Beyond Traditional Chiropractic Care

As we continued helping more difficult and chronic cases, we realized we needed better tools to support patients more completely.

So we expanded.

First came non-surgical spinal decompression therapy.

We saw patients struggling with:

  • disc bulges
  • herniated discs
  • sciatica
  • chronic low back pain
  • degenerative disc issues

And for the right patient, decompression became an incredibly valuable option to help reduce pressure and improve function without surgery.

Then we expanded further into soft tissue and recovery therapies like:

  • shockwave therapy
  • Cellutone
  • muscle recovery treatments

Why?

Because many chronic pain conditions are not only joint problems.

They involve:

  • damaged tissue
  • restricted movement
  • poor healing
  • chronic inflammation
  • muscular compensation patterns

As our patient base grew, so did the complexity of the conditions we were seeing.

That led us into the next phase of our office.

Why We Added Advanced BTL Technologies

One of the biggest turning points for our clinic was realizing how many patients were dealing with severe muscle weakness and instability — especially in the core, hips, pelvis, and lower back.

That’s where advanced technologies like Emsculpt Neo and Emsella became incredibly important for us.

Most people hear about these devices online and immediately think:

  • “abs”
  • “cosmetic treatments”
  • “body sculpting”

But clinically, we started seeing something much bigger.

We saw:

  • improved core activation
  • better pelvic stability
  • stronger postural muscles
  • improved muscle recruitment
  • better support for chronic low back conditions
  • improved confidence in movement

For many patients, weakness and instability were major missing pieces in their recovery.

Not just pain.

Weakness.

That changed how we approached treatment entirely.

Treating The Nervous System Too

Another major realization?

Many chronic health conditions involve the nervous system itself.

We started seeing more patients dealing with:

  • chronic stress
  • poor sleep
  • burnout
  • brain fog
  • nervous system dysregulation
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • recovery issues

That led us to adding therapies like EXOMIND.

Because health is not just about joints and muscles.

The brain and nervous system play a massive role in:

  • recovery
  • healing
  • pain perception
  • energy
  • mood
  • sleep
  • focus
  • overall function

This was another huge reason why “Chiropractic” alone no longer fully described who we had become.

Why The Name “Integrated Health” Matters

The word “Integrated” was chosen very intentionally.

Because we no longer look at the body through only one lens.

We integrate:

  • chiropractic care
  • spinal decompression
  • muscle rehabilitation
  • pelvic floor therapy
  • shockwave therapy
  • nervous system therapies
  • recovery technologies
  • movement support
  • stability training
  • lifestyle guidance

Every patient is different.

And every care plan should be different too.

Some patients respond incredibly well to chiropractic adjustments alone.

Others need a much broader strategy.

Our job is figuring out what combination gives each patient the best chance at long-term improvement.

We’re Especially Passionate About Helping “Failed” Cases

One of the biggest shifts we’ve seen over the years is the number of patients coming to us after feeling disappointed elsewhere.

Patients who say things like:

  • “I tried chiropractic before.”
  • “Physical therapy didn’t help.”
  • “Nothing seems to last.”
  • “I’ve been told surgery is my only option.”
  • “I’m tired of temporary fixes.”

Those are often the patients we connect with most.

Not because we promise miracles.

But because we understand that complex problems often need a more complete approach.

Sometimes patients don’t need “more force.”

Sometimes they need:

  • more stability
  • more support
  • better muscle activation
  • reduced inflammation
  • nervous system regulation
  • improved recovery
  • a broader strategy

That philosophy has become the foundation of Lakeshore Integrated Health.

What Makes Lakeshore Integrated Health Different

We are not trying to be:

  • a traditional chiropractic office
  • a cosmetic med spa
  • a physical therapy clinic
  • a pain management office

And we are not against any of those professions either.

Instead, we’ve tried to create something that bridges the gaps between them.

A place focused on:

  • movement
  • recovery
  • stability
  • nervous system health
  • long-term function
  • performance
  • quality of life

For some people, that means helping them return to the gym.

For others, it means:

  • sleeping better
  • walking easier
  • golfing again
  • playing with their kids
  • sitting comfortably at work
  • feeling mentally clear again
  • finally getting answers after years of frustration

That’s the bigger mission behind our evolution.

The Future Of Healthcare Is More Personalized

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s this:

No two patients are exactly alike.

And healthcare works best when we stop forcing every person into the same treatment model.

That belief is what transformed Lakeshore Chiropractic into Lakeshore Integrated Health.

And honestly?

We’re just getting started.

If you’ve struggled with chronic pain, instability, recovery issues, stress, or conditions that haven’t fully responded to traditional approaches, we’d love to help you explore your options.

Because sometimes the missing piece isn’t “more treatment.”

Sometimes it’s the right combination of treatments working together.
